第一轮通知 | 第8届深海微生物国际研讨会(2024.11.08，中国厦门)

Dear Colleagues,

We are excited to announce the 8th International Workshop on Deep-Sea Microbiology (DSM), which will take place in the beautiful city of Xiamen, China, from November 8th to 11th, 2024.

It will focus on topics of Microbial resource acquisition, Microbial metabolism, and the Applications of microbiology.

The call for presentations and posters is currently open, and we invite you to submit your abstract before the deadline on October 15th, 2024, at 8:00 PM China Standard Time (CST). Based on the quality of your abstract, we will select 10 exceptional participants who will be granted the privilege of attending the workshop without any registration fees.

Information of 8DSM

The "Deep Sea Microbiology international workshop" was initiated in September 2006 in Brest ,FRANCE during the International Congress on Extremophiles organized by the LM2E laboratory.The organization of this workshop is initially a Franco-Chinese initiative with the support of international experts whose objective is to promote collaborations and exchanges of expertise in the field of deep-sea microbiology while associating renowned researchers from different countries. The first edition of this workshop took place in Xiamen-China in 2008 (Convener: Pr Xiao Xiang), the 2nd edition in Brest in 2010 (Convener: Pr Daniel Prieur), the 3rd edition in Shanghai-China 2010 (Convener: Pr Xiao Xiang), the 4th edition in Brest in 2014 (Convener Pr: Mohamed Jebbar), the 5th edition in Kyoto Japan in 2016 (Convenerr: Dr Chiaki Kato), and the 6th edition in South Korea in Busan in 2018 (Convener: Pr Sung Gyun Kang). The BEEP laboratory organizes the 7th edition in Brest in September 2022 (Convener: Pr Mohamed Jebbar).

The workshop on deep-sea microbiology brings together every two years international experts in microbiology, the biology of microorganisms, ecogenomics and microbial ecology of deep-sea environments, mainly from the American, European and Asian continents. This is to exchange on scientific advances, orientations and establish new collaborations.
